Every time I connect to a server now, it connects to a p2p server.
When the p2p is green and I click, it disconnects from the server. If I find the country I desire in the all countries list, it will then connect to a p2p server again, not a normal one.
I can change it to obfuscated and again, when I select a country it will get connect to the obfuscated server for that country again.
I can’t see any option to connect to a normal server
I’m using the android app on a firestick
I cleared data on the app and relogged in
Selected uk from all countries list and it automatically connected to a p2p server
Same issue always connects to p2p server

I want to use a ‘normal’ server as they are faster than the p2p and obfuscated options. I have no idea why it’s defaulting to a speciality server
Well it depends what the recommended protocol is. If you’re streaming using the android app and fire stick, then you should be using OpenVPN (UDP) and just click any region or location that you prefer. It will select P2P by default because it doesn’t know what you’ll be doing. If you don’t want that, then you’d have to select a server specifically.
A good suggestion is using the server tool and selecting “standard VPN” in the advanced options and use that specific server they provide you. Try it here:

Also, chances are that a standard VPN server could be under the same data centre as the P2P server. There’s a possibility that it’s on the same rack or raid.
I am selecting a non specialty server specifically.
But it always connects to p2p or obfuscated, depending on which of these I selected last.
Obfuscated servers are an option you have to enable, maybe you have it on by accident? Even if it selects a P2P server it should be fine. You can switch protocols and then switch back to OpenVPN (UDP) and it shouldn’t connect to obfuscated servers.
