Apple TV to Support VPN Apps on tvOS 17
Nice addition, I was really hoping this release they would provide a dedicated ‘Home’ app. Considering it is a home hub, its pretty shocking that it still doesnt have this functionality.
Nice. This makes it easier to bypass password sharing restrictions on Netflix etc.
Hoping and praying Tailscale builds an app for this.
Finally. How many years have we waited? Amazon flat out blocks you from streaming content in your home region if you happen to be elsewhere, and I have some shows I want to catch up on.
The only streaming service I continue to use is MLB, but MLB and nearly every other service I had blocks VPN.
It’ll be nice for a Tailscale type of app to circumvent Netflix, but I would have preferred Private Relay such that Apple can leverage their enormous reach to force services to allow it.
Only apps? Will it be able to natively connect to an L2TP VPN like a Mac or iPhone can?
That’s huge tbh. VPN and ESPN+ would be huge for avoiding blackouts

Ill be curious to see how much of an implementation they support as there are limitation when it comes to regions and content.
