Automate VPN configuration?

Hi all,

Currently, in my organization, we are attempting to automate the rollout of Forticlient’s VPN. We are trying to push forticlient out, with a preconfigured connection. I am aware of the Fortinet configuration tool; however, we cannot seem to get access to the license file, so I am looking for alternatives.

I am wondering if there is a workaround for this, I was thinking there was a possibility of adding a new connection via PowerShell, or perhaps an MSI editing tool like Orca could work; however, I figured i’d ask in here while I continue my search.

Any help is highly appreciated!

Export/import XML profiles with SCCM/GPOs of you alreasdy use of of them?

There is a free version of the configuration tool for 6.0 clients, all you need is a FNDN free account. You will need two sponsors at fortinet to register here: https://fndn.fortinet.net/index.php?/register/

If you’re using the free Forticlient VPN software … You can deploy the software however works best for you… Config one client manually… THen export the VPN config via the registry keys from:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Fortinet\FortiClient\Sslvpn\Tunnels]

or

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Fortinet\FortiClient\IPSEC\Tunnels]

Then import the reg settings into the client machines.
