AX-3000 Verizon/Total Wireless uses hotspot

So I just signed up to the $15 plan from Total Wireless. It comes with Unlimited 5G Ultra Wide Band and 15GB hotspot.

I have SIM one is a T-Mobile Voice line.

SIM two, is where I am testing the Total Wireless.

I updated the IMEI on the AX3000 to match the phone where the two sim cards are linked/registered.

For SIM two I also set the TTL and HL to 65.

I Selected Verizon APN QCM… it seems to match what was set on my phone anyway. This is again on SIM two.

The AX3000 still uses only the hotspot the 15GB. Now all the 15GB used… so nothing works… maybe google itself but seriously slow.

What other settings can I change? Thanks

Try different TTL and HL settings. 65 may not work depending on your network topology. Do you have another router behind your device? Some other settings for VZW include 64 and 117.

Good luck

Verizon/Total Wireless is likely detecting hotspot usage and enforcing the 15GB data cap. The network’s traffic monitoring and hotspot tracking are quite sophisticated, and it’s hard to fully bypass these limits just by tweaking settings like TTL or APN.

Try:

  • Change TTL/HL: Set TTL/HL to 64 or 66 to potentially trick the network into treating traffic as normal phone data, bypassing hotspot limits.
  • Use VPN or Proxy: A VPN on the connected device or router may disguise traffic and help bypass hotspot detection.
  • Check for Firmware Mods: Flashing custom firmware can modify hotspot behavior but may void warranties and pose risks.

OP do you have anymore of those $15 lines you could “rent out”?

64 and 117 worked for me a well.

I had followed this post when I got the $30 Total deal… the 64 TTL and HL 117 had worked perfectly, but today all of the sudden it stopped working. Anyone else experience this or have any suggestions? The router still works with other sims / carriers but just not Total.

Will try those.

No other devices behind the AX-3000.

I also just tried adding VPN through wiregaurd … it seems to work just slow download/upload.

Edit:

The TTL 64 and HL 117 actually solved the problem it seems.
I turned off the VPN and speeds are back to normal.

Thank you!

For now the TTL64 and HL117 seems to work to solve the problem for me. I hope this stays working.

The offer is still up on Total Wireless… need two lines ported from T-Mobile or Mint.

Have you noticed with this set up that the hotspot is slowly being used? I did this and my yes the data speeds are over 900mpbs but from yesterday to today the hotspot usage went up went up about 0.28MB … I’m wondering if the 117 is viable long term

I just checked mine, still works no issues.

What kind of problem is it giving you?

Also, check that the 64 and 117 are still there, from time to time, it will reset them and you have to redo it by selecting a profile again.

Also, did you do the IMEI repair to match a phone device?

Glad I could help. Been there and done that before with the rm520n-gl

Was there a guide you used to configure this? My Spitz is about to arrive and I’m going to renew my 5G Unlimited plan for this setup.

I am not really sure because I used hotspot one of those times that the 64 and 117 wasn’t in place and I dont remember exact number.

But overall, I dont really think it uses the hotspot. Keep an eye on it and see how it goes.

You’re getting 900mbps with Total Wireless 5G Unlimited plan?

Do you get mmwave?

I used an S22 Physical SIM IMEI. Now I did activate the sim card into the phone first… but I dont think it matters as long as the IMEI and SIM is registered on their end. So I would say it should work for you no issues.

The 64 and 117 were suggested to me in this thread by mackattack5757.

I also enabled IPv6… Dont know if that would have mattered.

I see around 900-1.2Gigs download most days, the router doesn’t say it supports verizon but definitely get’s mmwave

also wondering this. OP is 117 still providing equal speeds from before?
