I have Norton on my phone and Norton VPN, which can be turned off.
As I will be going to China for a week, just wanting to know if I could use Mullvad for my VPN while still have my Norton on?

I am using Mullvad without any problem whatsoever in China atm. Also not using Shadowsocks or Bridge mode.
Can’t comment on Norton though, however all my PC and Mac software works as normal.
You shouldn’t really use multiple VPNs at the same time, it can heavily interfere with network performance like latency, packet loss, etc
mullvad worked for me in china 03/2024-08/2024
You should have backups ready tho
I am currently travelling in China. Mullvad worked perfectly in Shanghai and Beijing on hotel wifi’s. I use Halofly esim most of time (no VPN needed on this). Cheers.
You should be able to use Mullvad with Norton running, as long as Norton VPN is turned off. Just make sure Mullvad works in China since some VPNs are blocked there.
thanks, is a company’s requirement that our personal device logged in onto the company’s site must have norton. Also for insurance purposes… but i get what you meant.
And i take that as long as i signed up for mullvad, I shouldn’t need to setup any dns or tweak any settings to be able to use within China?
Thanks, it’s great to hear this from someone actually on the ground there. There are sooo many mixed opinions on the Internet regarding what does and doesn’t work over there that I have no idea who to trust, and online search results are clearly sponsored articles of the usual VPN offerings that likely don’t work, or don’t work reliably.
I meant keeping norton without using its VPN, but just anti virus if that would be fine
Thanks, did you mean another plan in case millvad failed too?
Thabk you, will definitely be using this
thanks, ppl been saying it works, guess i will find out soon

Yeah we’ve tried all of them before. ExpressVPN works ok as well, however much slower data speed compared to Mullvad, and hit and miss with the servers. Mullvad just works.
Yeah that would be fine. Although I would just recommend entirely getting rid of Norton, the built in windows defender is plenty and you definitely don’t need to pay for anything more. And I would recommend just sticking with mullvad anyway, much more privacy focused
yes, if mullvad gets blocked or if some servers dont work.
You are welcome. Just use any japanese servers to have a good transmission rate.
Yeah all good, we work on our personal devices but allowed to access company sites on the condition we have norton
Is there a point to have this always active though even for normal use or is it overkill?
