Can I use music IEMs for gaming?

I am thinking either the:

  • Moondrop Chu 2
  • Kinera Celest Wyvern Abyss
  • Kinera Wyvern

I’m leaning towards the Chu 2 because it comes in a type c cable while the rest does’nt. I’m wondering it it makes a difference if i use a music IEM for gaming, and is there other better reccomendation

No you can’t. Gaming and music are separate purposes. Keep your gaming stuff away from your music stuff, you don’t want to reduce the sound quality with the mere presence of other things.

Sure. Do whatever you want and what sounds good to you.

The only option that is a problem for gaming is anything bluetooth. The latency is just quite high, and low latency modes for bluetooth only seems to reliably work on phones (and are still kinda high latency).

If you want, I can test how Abyss performs for gaming since I havent sold it yet

Generally, the better a headphone or IEM is for music, the better it is for gaming. The Chu 2 is good but has QC issues. I’d recommend the Truthear GATe or 7Hz Zero:2 instead.

It’s okay! I’m gonna get the moondrpp chu 2!

I heard that the 7hz zero doesn’t have a good fit in the ears, is it true?

Also may I ask, what are QC issues?

my 7hz zeros fit fine.

Perhaps you’re thinking of the Truthear Zero? I’ve not heard complaints about the 7Hz Zero fit.

probably quality control

Quality Control. The Chu 2 has issues with breaking and oxidation.

Ah now thinking of it, it could be that my mistake

Ah that shouldn’t be an issue since there is a warranty

yea go for it if your seller is trustworthy. Most people just need a 20$ good iem in my opinion. The only improvement you can get for gaming should be sound stage but at that point might as well go for headphone

!thanks for the advice! I’m probably not gonna get a headphone as they are uncomfortable as i have piercings
