Can PureVPN still be used in mainland China after November 2023?

After November, it’s getting harder and harder for me to connect to PureVPN service, and since yesterday I have been completely unable to successfully connect. I have the same problem on both Windows and Android platforms. So, what is the answer? Will it be fixed in the coming days or will it never be available in mainland China again?

I read that Purevpn is now located in the British Virgin Islands. They left Hong Kong. I guess after the CCP took over Hong Kong.

If it helps, this is the solution I was given that seems to be helping a bit:

  1. Activate WireGuard Protocol (deactivate automatic protocol)
  2. Deactivate Fallback option (same window)
  3. Connect to either Germany, Japan, or Hong Kong (JP and HK are the most stable and consistent) (no Quantum encryption or anything, just the baseline)

My own notes:

  1. If you get a connection but it never reveals location and browsing is still impossible, you need to “change servers.”
  2. If the option doesn’t appear, press the Thumbs Down icon when it asks about connection stability, and then select the “Unable to Browse” option. It should then ask if you want to switch servers. Select Yes.

It sometimes takes a few tries (and I’ve had to remove the VPN configurations from my phone and tablet sometimes to force it to restabilize), but it’s been working semi-consistently. Anything too demanding in terms of streaming, though (like a GoogleMeet or Zoom), though, and your connection will suffer if you have all the bells and whistles on.
