Can Windows native VPN client be configured as an “always on” setup?

We use the native Windows 11 client to connect to our VPN service (Meraki firewall) and utilize AD authentication to connect.

Is there a way to configure this client to use the current Windows login creds to also connect to the vpn at login? And maybe not connect when on my production network?

You can choose to login to the VPN first from the home screen. Just clock on the icon in the bottom right corner.

I don’t know of any way to do it with Meraki.

Forti VPNs do have a dial at login option (it prompts the user, they don’t have to remember).

Native VPNs though? Not without paying for Windows Enterprise licensing, which is usually the deal-breaker for most orgs.

I’m looking to reduce user steps as much as possible, a connection automatically made at login :frowning:
