Can you download country-specific apps with Amazon Firestick using VPN?

Maybe weird q, but I’m new to this so looking for the technical clarity.

I have a Roku so I know that ExpressVPN isn’t supported with it directly. However, I know that the Amazon firestick is. My question is, if I want to download say the BBC iPlayer on it, will I be able to do that with ExpressVPN on the fire stick?

I’m not sure if my router would need the VPN so that the app even becomes available to download (kinda like how the iPhone won’t even show the option to download an app unless you change country settings etc)

Anyway…just curious before I invest. Thanks!

You can , and I have. However , you need to make sure that you have set up a new Amazon account for the uk. Then you Can access the uk apps . I also set my fire stick to a uk postal code and uk time zone. Works really well. I watch all the main uk tv programs, bbc , ITV, channel4 5, and UKTV play

This is great. Thanks for that. And it should handle 4K streaming too right?

It does . Now is it perfect ? No. We get lag from time to time. And some apps are less robust . Itv can fail . And when they fail I do one or more of three things. I empty the cache of the app . I restart the fire stick and I switch between the different uk servers . But overall we use the fire stick in preference to the Apple TV app . Even though i usually prefer apple , the fire stick is better.
