Can't Stream Hulu

Hey! I’m using ProtonVPN for a while now, and I never really had issues. But today Hulu just doesn’t want to stream.

I always get random “you are offline” messages, and I also tried everything from https://protonvpn.com/support/hulu-vpn/ but it just doesn’t work.

In the console I always get “No ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ header is present on the requested resource. If an opaque response serves your needs, set the request’s mode to ‘no-cors’ to fetch the resource with CORS disabled.”

… and I tried several servers in the US. Netflix and HBO works.

I’ve have similar issues with amazon. I just keep trying different servers until it works. Yes it’s annoying. It’s like some of the web services ban certain IP address unfortunately. I’m guessing they aren’t permanently banned but banned for a certain amount of time or banned based on location of the IP (E.g. Russia).

Please tell us which specific servers are you connecting to and contact us via the following link: https://protonvpn.com/support-form so we can further investigate.

I’ve never been able to get a single streaming service to work on any server with paid ProtonVPN.

Did you find a working server? I tried a lot by now

I wrote the ticket a minute after my post here, just wanted to know if others are experiencing issues. I tried several NY servers (9-12), NJ (5-7) and others. And again, Netflix, HBO and Prime don’t cause issues, so my settings should be okay.

I even tried a freshly installed Firefox, so to make sure there aren’t any cookies. And another VPN (to test it I got a VPN with a trial) works.

Plus Servers support a few streaming services, check out the help center.

I will of course, but I’m wondering if others have more luck here

Yes, it doesn’t happen very often to me and if it does then it only takes a couple of new server attempts before it works. I’m just speculating but perhaps the paid version gives you access to more “clean” IP addresses.

Alright, can you please let us know your ticket number so we can check what is the issue as soon as possible?

I stopped using them, Support is useless (third party called ZENdesk)

Proton only advertises their paid servers to work with streaming, I have ProtonVPN Plus

Yea sure: 132913 (hope this is the right one, I had a lot of tickets because of a payments issue)

So far I had great experiences with the ProtonVPN support. Zendesk is a 3. party software to manage tickets, used by a lot of companies.

Yes, they claim a lot of things… PLUS is overpriced, doesn’t work many times A N D they not only block you upon IP address, but also from where you signed up and your payment locality.

Well, it worked a week ago and still with Netflix, HBO and even Disney+. Stupid question, if you have something against ProtonVPN, why are you in this Reddit? it’s fine if you don’t like it, but isn’t it a bit useless to be in this Reddit then?
