Hey guys,
I know that Proton moved their physical server from India because of the new mandates.
But websites like Youtube show that I’m in Singapore when connecting to Indian servers, is there a way to bypass this?
Thanks for the help

You can verify the location of the server by going to https://ip.me and https://dnsleaktest.com (Standard test). Sometimes websites are using outdated IP databases, in which case a website can show the wrong location for a server, despite https://ip.me showing the correct location. Additionally, big data companies (such as Google or Meta) can show wrong IP location, as they determine their users location by cross-checking the location of where the IP address is, with the geolocation data it has of devices that use that IP address. If a company detects a significant number of devices using that IP address in a certain area, it will change the location it lists for that IP address. This can as example result to wrong geolocation data on Google or Instagram, which we have seen in the past. There’s a KB article about that over here:
I’d recommend you trying a different browser or use the Private/Incognito mode. If this does not help, I’d suggest directly reaching out to the support team, so they can further investigate. You can contact them directly through the app or over here at Proton VPN - Support Form | Proton VPN
IP geolocation is not accurate. Which country did you see if you visiting https://www.ipaddress.my with Indian VPN?
