DNS Leak Test, Why So Many Resolvers Using NextDNS?

Context:

Using NextDNS in standard config apart from using Swiss Logs to test Astril VPN Leak Test shows this many DNS resolvers?

If I use my default VPN, ProtonVPN using the same DNS, ProtonVPN DNS adds to the list even though Im using NextDNS as a Custom DNS within ProtonVPN.

Router DNS is CloudFlare and If I set PC to Auto DNS settings, itll ofcourse just show the router DNS in the test, or just the ProtonVPN DNS if Im using that for example, I’m just confused why NextDNS shows so many resolvers when connected?

I am unsure of this myself as well but I believe this is a normal behavior like for example in iOS and you download the configurator and enabled bootstrap ip(which is what you use if any firewalls are blocking nextdns servers) or if you turn off ultra low latency network in the iOS nextdns app. To avoid this you should enable ultra low latency or just use yogadns if you are on windows.

Next dns does not own the servers that there software is running on

If you go it https://ping.nextdns.io you will get the hosting partner and the location
