That would be guaranteeing a delay in your transaction. If you’re a long term investor then sure, try it out. But this is a daytrading sub so…why?

Stupid question, but could I hypothetically buy a stock that cant be traded in the us due to sanctions, using a VPN? Like how people would use a VPN to watch US Netflix when traveling abroad.
No, I can trade anywhere in the world without a VPN, just curious to see how many traders use one when trading, and if there are any issues in latency and speed, i know a lot of people recommend VPN’s for security reasons.

I’ve never heard of anyone trading with a VPN in my life. I’ve been trading almost a decade. The brokers have to use 256 bit encryption same as any bank and most VPN’s use the same encryption. and not sure what you mean by anonymity when I’ve never heard of a broker using your location or anything like that…

I wasn’t asking implying that you would be using the VPN solely because of trading, i was just asking in general as to how many use one on their machines, I wanted to get an idea of whether or not it impacts the trading performance and executions, like the speed of the connection and whether or not it is adversely affected for trading.
Honestly I doubt anyone would use a VPN as that would be a huge disadvantage trading. Why in the world would you want delayed information even if they delay is small.
