Does anyone use a VPN while betting?

Does anyone use a VPN to access sports books? For instance my state cannot access the Pinnacle sports book.

Is there a down side to this? Thanks in advance

I have never done it but am guessing it would be very easy for them to detect the use of a proxy. I was having trouble using PA sportsbooks in my state legally just because Citrix software was installed on my computer.

The obvious downside is having your account locked. I would hope they couldn’t confiscate your money but I suppose that’s a risk too.

I have tried. I’m sure it’s possible but they have some really sophisticated stuff and every book blocked me eventually. Thankfully they’re pretty much all legal in my state now, but these books have invested a lot in their tech to detect spoofers.

It’s easy to VPN and bet from other locations. What is harder is when they will not pay you out until you verify your identity and location with ID and bills

I have used NordVpn & ExpressVpn both working fine - https://www.reddit.com/r/TheVpnEng/comments/1ebrie7/best_vpns_for_sports_betting/

I would think it’s risky in case they ever ask for any kind of identification in order to withdraw.

Some books are better than others. Most don’t care.

Been in Thailand where betting is illegal and bet easily on all the normal Australian sites with express VPN except bet365

Why though. What is the point of locking out a pot of potential customers?

Kinda late but dam okay so if I’m in Nevada where other online sports books are illegal, like you in Thailand, could I do the same thing with Australian sites?

States will revoke their gaming licenses if they violate the law.

Here’s an example: 230 ILCS 45/ Sports Wagering Act.

Internet or through a mobile application.
(e) A licensee under this Act may only accept a wager from a person physically located in the State.

If you’re interested in other state laws, you have the internet to help you research.
