Download PIA on CasaOS

Let me start by saying I know basically nothing about Linux and the command line. So my knowledge on how to do anything is extremely limited.

I recently bought a mini pc and have it running Debian 12 with CasaOS. I have it setup as a minecraft server with crafty, it’s running pihole and I have it running a small jellyfin library. I want to be able to setup a vpn on the system, and I already subscribe to PIA for my other devices. I want to figure out how to get PIA running on it but I’m having an issue figuring it out. I downloaded the .run files to the downloads folder but I’m unsure of how to get that working. I’d like to be able to use the graphical interface if I can but I’m not sure if that’s possible. I’ve tried using this guide and followed it to the T as much as possible, but I’m not sure if it worked or how to check. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You would do this on Debian. CasaOS has nothing to do with it.

You’re going to have to step up to the command line.

If you’re looking to stick the …media… stuff in something to hide it, I’d just use gluetun. It works with PIA.

I really hated the openVPN implementation gluetun uses for PIA so I went another route and installed this as a container in Casa OS and I haven’t looked back.

https://github.com/thrnz/docker-wireguard-pia

trick was to then route all other containers through it.

It ain’t that kind of media my guy

Albeit, the media I’d want is probably downloaded the same.

how would I go about installing this?
