ADVISE: it appears that as of 9/11 the conversion has been changed from 3:2 to 2:1.
On CD Keys I got 3 years of XBL Gold and 1 months of Ultimate for $140. This gets you 2 years of ultimate for less than $6 per month. Below is the guide I used and everything worked flawlessly, just have to make sure your current sub expires first!

My current subscription doesn’t run out until April so I think I’m going to just stock up on some regular GPU codes before the price hike rather than taking the chance on grabbing Core codes and hoping that the conversion still works by the time I can use them.
I have a monthly recurring game pass for console. Should I cancel that first and then use this method? How does it work
Hopefully trick works on October 20, 2025 but good recommendation, even if its not working guess I know where to get it at a discount.

I allow membership to expire.
I buy 3 x 12m core codes from cd keys.
I upload all 3 codes.
Then I buy 1 month ultimate.
And does it convert automatically?
I understand I may only get 18 months doing this.
But is that the right order?

I can confirm as of 1st Dec this still works at the 2:1 ratio. I just did mine and I now have game pass ultimate up to July 2026 so 19 months.

Just got the notice they are discontinuing they current Ultimate auto-redeem with Rewards Points, so a price hike for that is also coming.
Ok so I was just thinking of doing this. My ultimate runs out in January. I know you need an inactive sub for this to work properly.
I saw Xbox Core was going up and I wanted to buy 3 1-year subs from Cdkeys so I could stack but I’m a bit nervous.
I dont like the idea of not being able to redeem a code from there for 6 months. I feel like if you get one that doesn’t work it will be tough to fix at that point.
My other thing is. I saw a mention of a cap of 13 months. It seemed like that was on the standard sub and not ultimate but I just want to make sure that’s the case before potentially running into an issue 6 months from now.
If you already have GPU csn I just get more gold and covert it to ultimate? I have about 4 months left of ultimate
But it would be a lot easier to just cancel my subscription and subscribe again when the games actually come out
my amex card got denied by cdkeys in the past. according to them it’s a scam site.
My GPU doesn’t expire until the end of Oct. I ended up getting 3 month GPU codes for ~$25 each, which came out to ~$8.34 a month. Not as good of a deal but better than $19.99 a month. I’m set for the next 3 years.
If you want 3 years of Ultimate Gamepass…it can be had for $240 …thats the cheapest Ive found
I bought 6 years of Core and 14 day trial of UGP on CDkeys for $240 …converted 3 years of Core to get 2 years of UGP…then used the other 3 years of Core to get 3 to 1 conversion giving me 1 more year…I had planned on just Core Gamepass for the 1st time because of the 3 to 2 conversion and lack of good games…BUTTTT After seeing the Games coming the next few years FOR FREEEEE with UGP…I CHANGED MY MIND …LOL
So Ultimate Gamepass costed me $80 per year for 3 years or $6.65 per month …not great …but not that bad IMO

Buy the cheap Indian keys and use a VPN to activate. Spent a total of 77 bucks for 2 years of GPU.
What this boils down to is the following
IF YOU DONT HAVE ULTIMATE ACTIVE NOW…You need to get 3 years Ultimate before September 2024 because Microsoft is going to ONLY ALLOW 1 year Max instead of 3 years that we have had for years…We are not guaranteed that the conversion will still be 3 to 2 next month.
If you have Ultimate right now and it expires next month or later your screwed…
YOU CAN NOT CANCEL ULTIMATE…IT HAS TO EXPIRE ON ITS ON.
You can buy Core right now IF you have Ultimate BUT IT WILL CONVERT 3 to 1…so it will take 3 years of Core to convert to 1 year of Ultimate…OUCH!
Imo…I look for a big price change come September…Microsoft has already announced price increase for monthly subscribers to $20,It wouldnt suprise me if the yearly subscription went from $129 to $150 or maybe even higher.
IMO…There’s going to be A LOT of Xbox subscribers and new comers that will be PISSSED after next months price change.
Those that already have Ultimate that’s going to expire after September are getting shafted.
If It were me…I would buy 3 years of Core and 1 month of Ultimate right now even if mine expired after the price hike. I would wait until Ultimate expired and hope that Microsoft doesn’t change the conversion rate once AGAIN!
I read somewhere online ( could be just rumours ) that it could be a 2/1 conversion after September. That would mean 1 year of Core would only convert to 6 months of Ultimate and if you already have Ultimate the conversion rate would be 4/1 so 1 year of Core would only convert to 3 months Ultimate!
Worked today 9/1/24 using cdkeys 3 years of core (us) for $130.77 and converted to 2 years of ultimate $5.45 per month. Also 14 day trial added, so it’s thru 9/21/2026 for some reason.
