Giving up on mysterium

Hey all

Had a node running for about two weeks, I had a handful of long connections but after reading a post on here regarding legal concerns over how the VPN is used I didn’t want to take the risk (happy for someone to tell me it is perfectly safe though)

Also I withdrew twice to two different wallets (trust and metamask) and on both occasions no crypto arrived in my wallet.

I’d really like to keep it running but the security concerns and the withdrawal issues I just can’t spend anymore time on it

If you have made a withdraw to a wallet for MYST on the Polygon network have you added the token to Metamask?

I’m in the same boat, after a couple of failed withdrawals in kinda down that it would cost me nearly $80 to fix the wallets so I can receive about $1 in tokens.

At this point I’m not worrying about it. I’ll keep my node up and see what comes of it.

Where are you based? Most Western countries have regulations that exclude communication service providers from liability…

But hey, more $MYST for me ;D

Sorry for your loss, at least for my case the mysterium devs ‘only’ took 94% as ‘network’ fee and left a mere 6% to me for my payout. Not a total loss like you.

Don’t try to seek help from their Discord or whatever, they will just blame everything on Polygon congestion while pocketing all your payout and send to dev wallet.

Is that the toggle switch for whitelist verified mysterium traffic on the home page?

Not sure I did actually add the token(never realised I had to) I’ll have a look

I had an issue with my node where docker crashed and it wouldn’t let me connect to a proposal without topping up my account so, I was putting money in (which I didn’t really have) and not getting anything out.

I might try again at some point but I’ll leave it for now

Yes! You can enable whitelist feature by going into node ui and checking “verified traffic only” option.

What they don’t tell you is that whitelisted means you will not get any traffic. At least not at this time. You will only get the test traffic from Netherlands.

perfect! I went through the tutorial and got my MYST in Metamask, not sure why I missed this doc as it would have been really helpful

I’m seeing that I redeployed my docker node had it running a couple of days all I have had is the test traffic

There is traffic for Whitelisted nodes and not just from the test traffic. It’s not the same amount as nodes accepting all traffic and location of a node will play a big part on if your node gets traffic.

I have redeployed so see how it goes. Each time I want a payout do I need to click the receive tokens in the wallet or will they automatically appear?
