Google Home has stopped playing my favourite radio station

OMG thank you!! I was worried my Home had stopped understanding me.

Thank you so much!!! Mine was playing absolute 90s which was really starting to make me think that my google speaker had a mind of its own!

Thanks alot this was geting on my nerves yeah I was thinking that as well about moving to new device Alexa… lol

Thanks for this, I thought I’d broke the speaker, I like most the channels just not 80s that it insisted reverting to.

Firstly, thanks for this tip. Worked great… up until this morning and now Google can’t find “Absolute Radio 105FM”!

Anyone have any other work round please?

That’s a neat tip, I might do that when I get home, although makes it even stranger that it stopped working.

Thanks for this! I’ve not used routines before, so was a bit trial and error. I couldn’t get it to play absolute radio with your suggestion above, but if I used: play music: “absolute radio 105 FM from TuneIn” that did the job.

Thanks so much for the tip!

How odd, I don’t suppose they said what would cause it to be no longer supported? I reckon someone somewhere has messed up.

Oh my god thank you, I tried everything this is the one that worked

That gave me a chuckle

It’s driving me mad, first Absolute Radio disappeared and now 90s has too!

I’m getting ‘I Can’t do that here’, for ClassicFM. I can still cast it OK and other Global stations like LBC are still OK.

Got it working by saying “play absolute radio 1215 AM on tunein” That last part is necessary to ensure it doesn’t start playing stuff in youtubemusic/spotify for me.

I’ve taken to casting it from the Absolute Radio app… So so frustrating indeed.

It’s been an issue for months, and I have no idea why it’s not been fixed.

Same happen on mine but Alexa plays fine. I’m switching to Alexa

I had the same issue - very irritating. Turns out they advertise AM frequencies on the Absolute Radio website. I tried “Absolute Radio AM 1215” instead and it seems to be working!

I think it’s just accidentally been deleted from the list. The story person I spoke to didn’t seem able to just add it again

This was their response. It’s odd, because I wasn’t suggesting Absolute should be added, I was telling them that something that worked last week no longer does work, not that I want a new feature.

Thanks for this mate, lifesaver - just got a nest mini set up and was getting VERY frustrated with it, kept playing Classic Rock. The AM 1215 bit worked a treat! Going to combine that with the routine tip from further down this thread. Take my free award you beautiful person!
