Brilliant!! Thank you very much. Works a treat.
I went the other way and reported the problem to Absolute hoping that they would have more power over Google than an individual and this was their response:
“We’re trying our hardest mate. We’ve been banging that drum for a few weeks now. Hopefully it will be fixed soon”
Thanks for the award! Pleased to hear it worked for you as well. I was getting Absolute 80s all the time… I’m not always in the mood for that!
The tone of this reply is the most Absolute Radio thing ever!
I tried that too, but got no response from them. At least we know they’re on the case though!
Hopefully shouldn’t be too hard to fix. Absolute 90s didn’t work a year or so ago and they managed to get that fixed quite quickly
Right, so things have now gone crazy.
If I ask my speaker to play Absolute Radio I get Absolute Classic Rock
If I use the workaround of “play Absolute Radio 105FM” it plays something called Uckfield FM! How is that anything like Absolute Radio?!?!
105 was only used by Absolute in London (and has now been given to their sister station Greatest Hits Radio). Across the country there are other stations on 105, including Uckfield or the one that my home plays U105 from Ulster.
But we’re still stuck in a situation where asking Google Home to play Absolute Radio it plays one of its sister stations, and a workaround for 105FM no longer works, so can’t play Absolute Radio at all
As mentioned above use Absolute Radio AM 1215, I’ve got a Routine set up called “Play Absolute Radio”, which has a Play and control media option using Radio with the text field set to “Absolute Radio AM 1215”
When I last tried the 1215 workaround it told me it was playing something by Nickelback! ![]()
You have to get the words in the exact order. I’ve had some random stuff of Apple Music played when getting it wrong. Just wish Google would sort out all the station names. Too many broken right now.
