So i got myself that purevpn offer and thougth i couldt get it running on my tv somehow, but sadly im not even able to stream to it. With chromecast it tells me that i should watch stuff in my region, and setting up my pc as a wireless acces point for my tv to connect to didnt work either, any tips ?
Streaming services know about VPNs, they know that people use them to get around region blocking, and they know what IP address ranges are used by the popular VPNs.
So they block those ranges of IP addresses.
Some streaming services block their services completely if you are not behind your specific home IP address, or on mobile. Playstation Vue is an example. This is to prevent password sharing between friends and family.
VPNs are not streaming friendly.
Chromecast and Samsung smart TVs don’t support VPN. What you need is a smart DNS service with which you can change the DNS on your Samsung TV to watch, say US Netflix. Keep in mind that you won’t be able to change the apps in the Samsung smart TV store with the smart DNS.
I’m not sure if pure has smart DNS but I use express and they gave smart DNS for your Samsung TV.
