How do you check if a VPN server is down?

I’m having problems with my server, this is the one I use regularly to have a steady IP to some degree. I’d obviously just change my server if there wasn’t any issues but I need to keep my IP regular for sites to not ban me.

How do i check if my server is down even if it seems connectable?

Did you ping the server?

From my experience running it on my router. The gateway usually shows as offline or packet loss if the server goes down

They’re probably all down. Have ten paid secure core servers saved on my router and they’re all down. (And yes, the WiFi works perfectly if I turn off the VPNs)

This happens a lot. You can’t have a steady IP with ProtonVPN. This shit goes down several times a week, often several times a day.

I only use their VPN because I can’t get Mullvad to work with my router and I’m already paying for their email.

Also, fyi, many sites ban Proton frequently.

It seems to just went down for the last 6 hours or so.

It’s seemingly random. I’m having the same problem again, I decided to switch to US-NY-420 and it worked for 20 minutes and went out, then I went to NY-330, and it wouldnt even connect. it must be my connection. Im not sure, I’m using a CA one now and it’s working but in 3 years using Proton, i’ve yet to have drops in service like I’ve had the last 2 days…

I don’t know if you can see this as it seems to be invisible to logins that are not mine. I’ve used a dozen different servers and they work, then go out, then maybe work. I have no clue as I normally haven’t had this issue in three years with Proton. How can I contact customer service and get a response in the same day?

Through the ‘Report an issue’ option so your request can be properly prioritized according to your account’s plan. If you’re on a paid plan, you’ll likely receive a response in the same day. Paid users also have an option to contact our support team through chat.

My torrenting rig has been connected for over 2 weeks straight, phone too. Really never have any connection issues. Also, any major VPN provider will get servers blocked, but if you don’t ask proton for help or let them know, it will never get fixed.
