How effective are VPNs against parental controls on routers?
Trying to get past your dads porn block or what?
If the controls block certain websites, the VPN will either fully bypass it and it won’t know the websites you visit. Or, if the parental control system is pretty good, it will recognize VPN traffic and block all traffic and you won’t be able to do anything online with the VPN.
Other forms of parental controls include data caps or scheduled access based on your device MAC address, a VPN won’t help you with either of those.
Many VPN services have like a trial phase. You could just try it out. Would be interested if it works, maybe you can update us later ?
They bypass most parental block if they do url filtering
Well. If they filter your DNS and the Parrental control is based on something like a P0rn block list well then a DNS change is probably enougth. If its based on HTTPs Middle man well GL thats a lot more difficult to bypass.
Also DoT and DoH could help in bypassing the blocks. Tho a VPN should be likely to be able to be effective.
We are so screwed when these kids grow up.
No he’s trying to learn how to touch his right elbow with his right hand
I highly doubt some dudes dad has a VPN block on a home router.
You can use a SSTP VPN and in most cases the router will pass the traffic since it travels on TCP/443.
It is an xfinity xb3 DPC3941T
How do I know if it is url filtering?
Why do adolescents think bragging about their age is going to get them applause from the adults.
