How to actually subscribe to Hulu, Prime etc

Howdy all, I’m trying to get access to some US-only services e.g. Hulu, Prime Video. I have WeVPN which works well, but I am unable to actually register with these services, as they require payment info and use this to validate country of origin.

This is pretty smart really and I can’t really see any way around it short of purchasing some kind of payment card online and using that. Any advice here?

Hello! If you need a VPN, check out the stickied Best VPNs for Netflix 2022 post!

I would recommend PayPal. I have noticed that some services don’t check/care about the country of origin if payment happens through PayPal.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I shall report back

With prime just subscribe to your local service

You can just swap region using a vpn

Not sure about Prime but for Hulu, u can actually purchase a gift card online.

Check out r/accountsharing and you’ll likely be able to get yourself a profile on the subscriptions you want from someone in the US who subscribes to them. That’s how I have all of them.

Try StatesCard, I use it for almost all my US streaming services

I always buy and use gift cards from offgamers.com. I know both Hulu, Netflix and Prime at least have their own gift cards. I personally, as an Apple TV user, always pay with iTunes gift cards for all my services, even if there are some services that don’t support iTunes gift cards. Netflix for example stopped supporting iTunes gift cards as payment a while ago for new and returning costumers, but for me with an old iTunes subscription, can still pay Netflix with iTunes gift cards.

But in Netflix case, I can’t guarantee that their own gift cards will work, if you buy gift cards from another region. Because, since Netflix stepped up their game lately regarding cracking down on people using VPNs, I have seen many threads with some people that seems to have problems with their payments or when they are trying to change payment method and such.

But you can always buy and try other services with gift cards for whatever region you are trying to access and see if it will work for you.

Easier thing is to create a US paypal account, that’s what I did. Only thing you need is a VPN and some service where you can get a US phone number. Then you can just add your own credit card to that paypal account and subscribe to any streaming service you want.

I have tried that with Hulu, with my local PayPal account that have my local credit card added, but that don’t seem to work.

I had luckily enough an old US PayPal account, I registered long ago, and that have my local credit card added, and that seemed to work. So at least with Hulu you will need a US PayPal account to make it work.

But maybe it will work with other streaming services, I know I at least have tried some services in the past that seemed to accept my local PayPal account.

If you change the region using a VPN the content you see on prime will remain the same but you won’t have access to content not available in the region you’ve set the VPN to. Doing what you suggest will actually give you less content than more. Prime isn’t like Netflix it doesn’t change the content you can access based on your current location.

Tried this but PayPal instantly deactivated my account when I tried to add my overseas credit card. Perhaps it was the phone number which presumably others were using too. Any advice?
