I’ve tried updating the crack version from oceantogames.com to 1.28, I just downloaded game files and pasted it on the warcraft 3 file ( Sorry if somewhat not good or inefficient since I don’t use hive or not expert at these)
It requires the activation key to activate the reign of chaos and frozen throne though ( The activation keys from repackgames worked for me) Please keep in mind that it also works but the issue is that it isn’t full screen.

One question, can I actually play reforged with my original CD keys? I still play on my retro computer so I have not bothered trying the new shit 
Edit: I started playing through the campaign a while ago. Man this was (is) a great game, but I recall that it automatically updates to the new version if you connect to battle.net so I have not even tried online play yet.
You can definitely play, just not with reforged graphics. But yeah, you can’t go online without updating the game. You can play older versions if you join lobbies through a 3rd party LAN network (gameranger is one I’m fond of using)

No idea, I was thinking I should go with reforged to play online when I’m done with the campaign. Just assumed it would be more active players there?
Yes! I haven’t used it since reforged came about, but I’ve seen lots of people talk about it so I’m guessing the gameranger community is VERY alive and well. Though, it’s probably LOTS of self-proclaimed custom game pros playing on there. And to be fair, those self-proclaimed custom game pros are VERY good at w/e game they play.
