Step 2: for every account u want to create, create a virtual credit card, and use that to register for the free trial.
Step 3: When you are creating the virtual credit card, set the maximum spending limit to be 2 or 3 dollars, so that even if they do try to bill you, it will be denied.
Step 4: Cancel the card just before the trial ends and before they try to bill you.
Step 5: once trial resets make a new email with https://10minutesemail.net/ and make new account with a new burner card and new details.
Step 6: Rinse and repeat for any and every account that has a free trial.
NOTE: Especially useful for VeePeeEns (I recommend Express or Proton for best speed)
also usable for Netflix, Hulu, Prime video, and Spotify.
EDIT: privacy.com only works in USA, for other countries, use Revolut.
Probably going to try this for Paramount+. They’ve been advertising a lot of decent stuff lately but Netflix, Hulu, and HBO Max are already $50 a month. I can’t bring myself to add anymore.
The last time I used Privacy for trials they would block your transactions to the merchant after 3+ cards to prevent abuse, and from being blocked from the merchant entirely. Not sure if that’s still the case though since they updated their cards system.
Would the virtual cards work for online purchases overseas? I was going to subscribe to a VPN, only to find out the payment is processed in Estonia or something sketchy. It triggered fraud alerts from my bank. Thankfully, it wasn’t fraud, but it’s a real pain to pay for anything not in the US, I have to call the bank, and tell them the exact amount, country, and time zone, and they have to allow it.
I could have the bank turn off this feature, but I feel that’s too risky. Would be nice to have a virtual card I could use for this, not tied to my real account.
I actually wanted to ask this, is a there a possibility to get into trouble with this stuff? since I have the ability to rotate numbers with Wise and Revolut but I never tried it in a fear of legal trouble but maybe I’m too paranoid?
i tried something like that with lucid.app and it said that the card had no credit on it despite them saying that they only wanted the card details so that they can charge me after the trial ends not before, any ideas.
