How to use Surfshark with Torrent client

I recently switched my internet provider back to Spectrum (I already regret it) and they already flagged me a few times now for downloading torrents and keep giving me warnings. I purchased 2 years of Surfshark and I use qBittorrent. Are there any specific settings that need to be changed to make sure Spectrum can’t see what I’m downloading? I’ve never used a VPN before.

I recently purchased a surfshark subscription for the same reason, but my torrenting experience was bad. Few peers, low download speeds, practically no seeding. The problem is that sufshark doesn’t support port forwarding.

I switched to a service that supports port forwarding (I chose airvpn based on the wiki here) and it is great. The servers are not many and missing some countries I would like for non-torrenting use, but the speed is great; saturates my 200Mbps line and uploads fast.

So, if your main usage of VPN is torrents, then you should switch providers. I made use of the 30day guarantee and got my money back without any problem.

I had the same Surfshark, qBittorent setup for 2 years and always had slow download speeds and or couldn’t connect to others unless it was very well seeded. I had Spectrum for the first 1-1/2 years now Frontier and never had issues with getting flagged. I mostly only download CAD apps and tutorials and what tiny amounts of music I do download and share is only thru private trackers although private trackers are not difficult for anyone to join as well. I had used Private Internet Access several years before and now as well with qBittorent and the speeds and connections are much quicker than with Surfshark and still not flagged for any downloading/uploading.
