I’m new to Windscribe and VPNs in general and I’ve just finished installing the free version of Windscribe and the browser extension for Firefox. I have a few questions:
1) How exactly do I use Windscribe? Does it turn on automatically when I open a browser or is there an on/off button somewhere to get it to start working and shut off when I don’t require it?
2) My account has a 10GB data limit. Is this a monthly limit and will I be notified when I’ve almost reached it?
3) Once I reach my 10GB limit will the VPN turn itself off automatically while I’m browsing / downloading?
4) What does the browser extension do that’s different from the normal Windscribe VPN?
5) Will having the Windscribe browser extension “active” also use up my 10GB data limit?
Thanks!

Press the thicc I/O button on either the desktop app or the browser extension. You can’t miss it.

Monthly limit. It’s updated as you use it. You will not get a notification saying you’ve exhausted your limit.

The VPN session will get terminated. That is, yes, the VPN will disconnect if you’re connected as you exhaust your data limit.

The browser extension uses 128 bit encryption and only secures your browser. (Duh). The desktop app tunnels ALL traffic passing through your computer via Windscribe’s servers. Since you’re new to this, I recommend you primarily use the Desktop app.

If you’re connected via the extension, yes. Just “enabling” the extension will not affect your data.
Pro tip: Log in into your account and enter the voucher code “EXPAND20” to get 20 GB of free data up from the 10 GB you have presently.
