How would I install windscribe vpn on solus?

So never really set up a vpn under linux, so not sure what to do.

Windscribe site list linux support/instructions, but only specific distros like ubuntu.

How would I be able to set it up on solus? Still a noob with linux, I mostly just look up guides and go from there.

You can download an OpenVPN at the bottom of the downloads section under Config Generators and then use it through openvpn in the terminal.

I’m not sure you can actually install the client itself yet, but there is a Firefox addon too.

I had the same problem, but I got it to work.

Download the binaries. I think I downloaded the RPM files. There should be instructions on where to put the files in the file. You might need to look up a guide to installing binaries manually.

Once you’re done, you can run Windscribe via command line and it works great.

You can install qomui from the software center

I believe you need a paid account to use Windscribe via OpenVPN.

I’ve been waiting for Windscribe or someone to port the Linux version to Solus. As it stands, the only decent free VPN that can be used via OpenVPN is the free version of ProtonVPN, which while is it quite decent for being free, it doesn’t work with torrents.

I have a free account with 50gb, going to be annoying not being able to use it. Might have to set up a VM for when I do need to torrent something with VPN.

either of these on solus would be great.

I feel like that’s not going to happen
