I like Bitwarden's transparent pricing

So Dashlane increased the price for its premium plan in my country by around, 1080 % :money_mouth_face:
For 2 full years Dashlane Premium was cheaper than Bitwarden in my country. I did not have much use for its bundles VPN so never even installed it.
Being Price sensitive I was using it  and fully enjoyed it.
Now I am coming to BW. Hopefully BW premium would not shoot to 1000 % in future.

If Bitwarden had a 1080% price increase for the Premium plan, the new price would be $118/year (although it would probably be marketed as “less than $10 per month”…).

I’d prefer if they announced now an increase starting 2025. Costs go up and people love Bitwarden so I’d rather they give people lots of notice and encourage earlier sign ups and have very minor price increase to keep up with inflation. Rather than sell out later or do stupid stuff like Lastpass.

Welcome to the family

BW team have too much integrity to increase it by that much over a short time.

I’d still pay it. The product is that good.

If increase is from 10 to 15 or 20 then I don’t think most will get a huge shock.

But if they make it 30 or 40 or 50 in 1 year itself it will give people a bit of shock.

Why ask more of the audience that’s already paying when there’s both a sizable number of free users, plus new people coming all the time from LP and other apps who will likely join and grow revenue?

Raising the price is a “this market is dying” move.

Microsoft should just acquire Bitwarden

Do you mean % increase? A modest 3% a year increase, rounded up or down is appropriate in my opinion, with several months of notice so adds a slight urgency to people to sign up without being a high pressure sales tactic.

Nooo, please, nooooo

I’ve heard Broadcom are experts at acquisitions and raising prices

Ek no. Ke baudam ho.

They’re a US company, in USD terms they have not increased their prices

If Bitwarden and 1Password were both $60 a year. There is pretty much no world I pick Bitwarden over 1pass in their current states. Not saying that can’t change!

Edit: I would happily pay double ($20 usd) for Bitwarden.
