I mean, you will always have to look at the outcome of using a free vpn such as privacy but for the sake of just bypassing ip restrictions on sites like mega it does not seem like that big of a deal.
Are you asking if its technically possible or if you should? If the site does not give you problems while doing it (which I think people try to bypass ip restrictions on sites like this all the time) then go for it.

Almost more often than not, yes. If it’s “free”, there’s a catch. For example Hola at least used to resell your traffic by routing other traffic via your connection.
