I want to torrent on my synology, but I use private internet access as my VPN. Is there a way to do this on the synology?
The nice thing here is that it it will only torrent over VPN. I use it with PIA and it works great.

There is a much easier way than using the complex ‘downloadstation in a container.’
To start, create a network interface for PIA.

You have to modify the PIA files
(I use nordvpn, and it’s flawless).
Just create a network interface under control panel/network/network interface. Set it to reconnect automatically when disconnected.
Then, just change your DEFAULT GATEWAY (under control panel/general) TO your VPN. I use download station with the Synology Download addon for chrome to just click on the link, it automatically sends it to download station. Best part is, your desktop does not need to use the VPN, and download station will stop downloading if the VPN disconnects. Been doing it for 2 years, never had an ISP report. You can pull up the download station web interface from your desktop to see what’s going on. It’s perfect.
