Is this normal for PIA to ask to add configurations? It seems kind of sketchy. It won’t work unless I agree to it also

It’s a VPN app, of course it needs to add a VPN configuration :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d be concerned if Android didn’t require confirmation

That’s normal. I believe that are just adding the certificates of authority.

But I’ve had it for a long time and has never done this before and it’s not android

In that case I’m horrified that iOS didn’t ask before, adding VPNs is definitely something that should require user confirmation.

What up with the monitored when using part?

If all your data gets rerouted through a 3rd party server via the OS’s VPN subsystem, that 3rd party could monitor anything that’s not encrypted and has the opportunity to guess about things that are encrypted.

In this case PIA is that 3rd party and this rerouting is the whole point of their app and service, but if you see that notification on anything other than a VPN app that you want to reroute all your traffic, be very worried and uninstall it immediately.
