When I go to adguard’s test site, adguard dns shows as not running if my vpn is connected and the stats on adguard DNS dashboard shows as if there’s been no requests. I use Surfshark VPN. And I checked with rotating IP on and off.
Is it supposed to be like that? I’m guessing it is since it shows as running when the vpn isn’t connected.
This is expected, albeit frustrating, behavior with iOS and VPNs. Generally you can’t run two VPNs at once. But see here for a possible workaround.

True, you can’t have two VPNs. But a DNS provider is not a VPN. Adguard private DNS works for me on both iOS and Android with the DuckDuclGo VPN
