Why do I have to go through and hour or more of this EVERYTIME I want to log into the server? Its not full, its official. Since gamelaunch, I will have to connect an excessiv amount of time to enter the server and its driving me nuts. I tried so many things, like validate, remove firewall and anti-virus. Connect through server screen in steam, join a friends “game” when hes on the server im trying to get into.
This seems like a much bigger problem. Please upvote so we can get some light on this. Steam forums and ark forums are slowly starting to get topics on this as well, but no response from ark…

I found a “way” to fix it for now, its really fucking stupid that we have to do it like this. But it worked for me. I got the TunnelBear VPN, free account, limited MB per month. You only need it connected while joining the server, as soon as you join the server, you can turn it off, get a lag spike and then boom, not using data on the vpn and still connected to server.

UPDATE: I managed to bypass the issue by bypassing my hardware firewall (pfSense, in this case) and going straight from the modem to my NIC. So I’m trying to trace the issue through my hardware firewall now. <<
I’m having the same problem. ONLY with official servers, unofficials work fine (including ones with Battleye). No VAC bans. I’ve verified game file integrity, reinstalled the game, disabled firewalls…
I’m at a loss as to why this is only happening on the official branch for me.

A few others in my tribe have this same issue. Click Join on a server. Joining Server blah blah blah. 2-3 minuters later Box pops up saying Connection time out.
having the same problem too. i tired changing connection and disabling the firewall but nothing worked. i hope they fix this bug soon. it looks like its only on official servers.
They really dont want us to join their servers, now I get regulary Disconnect and the server disappear, even though I can still see all(I guess most) other servers… wtf is going on.
When trying to join. After it’s loaded the first little bit and jumps you back to the server screen and says “connecting to so and so server”, spam click on the server you are trying to join. You don’t have to spam the join button, just spam click on the server name.
Since I started doing this I get in every time. Don’t know why it works, just does.
I dont seem to have a firewall setup on the router. I dont run any in between firewalls, only windows, have tried having that disabled as well.
Yesterday I had same problem, after about an hour I could just suddently get in, which makes me think its not my actual connection… But today, now been trying for 3 freaking hours… Unofficial works fine and I have no vac bans.
Tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling, didnt work.
Ive been playing on the server since “ark launch” and only today and yesterday I just suddently started having problems.
I got a 300/300mbit fiber connection, everything else connects perfectly.
Did they change a setting? I am having issues as well from work but it used to work just fine. I don’t know if things need to be re-configured or if it is an issue with Ark in general. I know before there used to be issues where when servers lagged you couldn’t login without timing out so I don’t know if that is happening again or not.
