How I can continue to torrent and be 100% sure I won’t get in any trouble? A friend of mine has his internet shut off for continuing to torrent, is there anyway I can continue or am I just shit out of luck?
VPN then bind VPN to torrent client
Get AirVPN or similar, you want something with port forwarding. You also need to be certain you bind your Torrents to the VPN adapter. All of this is available in guides here.
Usenet + indexer and will never have to back tontrrenting and is well secured
AirVPN is the best place to start if you are new at this. Proton is nice but the port changes each login. Air is a little older and crustier but run by hackivists. The documentation they have is immense, you keep your ports, it’s the sanest starting point.
I use winscribe VPN and never had an issue with torrents…
BIND YOUR VPN…. YouTube this and you will be set. It takes 10-15 seconds or so and you will be secure and set. Again… BIND YOUR VPN!! YouTube if you want a set by set guide. Super simple, very effective
Is it possible to do this binding to VPN thing with nordvpn?
I went IPvanish, they are great and affordable
I’m sure any VPN will do, though I highly suggest Proton VPN, because the whole suite of Proton offerings are excellent, email, cloud storage, password management etc. That + bind qbittorrent or whatever torrent app your using to it. Really easy to do. If using qbittorrent go to Tools → Options, then advanced, look for ‘Network Interface’ (third option on the list) and set that to ProtonVPN or whatever vpn you’re using and you’re done. Alternatively you could use ProtonVPN’s Kill Switch feature which means you only have internet access if the VPN is connected though I prefer the binding method.
He doesn’t really “need” port forwarding, it’s great but it won’t affect him much. I’ve used airvpn before and while it’s quite good, it just doesn’t work nearly as easily and smoothly as mullvad. My biggest ick with airvpn is the Killswitch and some minor settings. Regardless both are great options I agree on airvpn.
Usenet is too pricey
I’m using WS too, it’s no super fast seeder, but I reach my 2 ratios in the end.
Using GB fiber but rarely seed above 6MB.
i use windscribe, not the fastest but super reliable and constantly adding new servers
Yes, I think it’s called “kill switch”
How this all works
I’m relatively new to usenet, but I think I’m starting to get the hang of it.
First off the general gist is usenet is for displaying news groups. They can contain text of binary data and they are in the nomenclature i.e. alt.binary.boneless (a.b.bonless) or rec.games.pinball (r.g.pinball).
Second, there are providers which give you access to said news groups. Eweka and ViperNews are some examples here.
Providers can either be resellers or Tier 1 providers of a given backbone, which multiple backbones can be owned by a single company (Omicron or Abriva to name a few).
Next, there are the indexers. These scour the news groups to make it easier to search for different binaries or text entries within the news groups. These would be like NZBGeek or DogNZB.
Lastly is the software. You reasonably need something which can download the data (SABnzbd, etc). Then you might want something to search through the indexers, as they can be hard for humans to get good results. These would be Sonarr, Radarr, etc.
Certain providers can have some binaries that are missing from other providers. Some indexers have better search algorithms than others OR some only search certain news groups. Because of this, its better to have 2 providers, and possibly 2 indexers (maybe more).
Here’s where I get stuck.
First off - do providers see everything that is in a given news group? Said a different way, does Eweka see all of a.b.bonless just as Viper sees all of a.b.boneless, or is there stuff that is different between the two?
Second - when choosing an indexer, do they reference all of a given news group, no matter which provider you use?
Meaning NZBGeek would index everything in a.b.bonless regardless if I had Eweka or Viper?
So when it returns results, I may not be seeing something Eweka has, but some other provider?
I’m getting goofed up when thinking about how indexers and providers work together. I understand what both of them do (or so I think based on description above), but they seem like separate pieces of the pie, with which, you should find an indexer that works with certain providers to give you better results for the subscriptions you’ve paid for.
Help!
Found this on web. If want a good deal in provider should be around 3e/m (and most of time it contains VPN). You can download at full speed without carreing about letters etc
Google is your friend.
Eee ex I got deal for unlimited per year for 30 euro and VPN is included… Is this to expensive?

USEnet used to be included with dialup for free. The good ole days.
Don’t trust a Killswitch.
Bind the connection to the tun VPN adapter.
When the VPN is out, no data flows.
A Killswitch relies on Dataflow, there can always escape some before it identifies the right exit.
