Kaspersky plus blocking my vpn

i used to run a vpn while im using kaspersky but two days ago my kasper is blocking my google chrome vpn extension how i can make it work again while using kasper without pausing it

This stuff suddenly happened to me after some update. None of the VPNs worked. Bitdefender was the same. When I delete the antivirus they work as usual, although one VPN still was problematic.

Did you find a solution?

Had the same issues with the nord addon. Issue and effected both chrome and Firefox for me but not brave (a chromium based browser), Narrowed it all the way to a setting in kaspersky.

Yeah I’ve got the same issue. I use nordvpn, but generally I only use the chrome browser extension version. 2 Days ago the extension stopped working and come to find out it’s because of kaspersky.

hi, same issue here, anyone found a fix yet ?

Add 1.1.1.1 to network exclusion list. Thats all.

I have VPN browser extensions that stopped working on every browser. How can I fix this?

This is the main issue…Kaspersky is blocking those VPN’s server SSL… the temporary solution is maybe to identify those domains and add to exclusion.

Hi all! I think I’ve found a workaround by looking at this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/OperaGX/comments/1cthx3i/couldnt_connect_with_vpn_since_i_had_installed/

As mentioned in the last comment, the issue is Kaspersky scanning encrypted connections. To be able to use the VPN extension again, you need to disable this functionality going into Settings → Security Settings → Network Settings → Do not scan encrypted connections.

Of course, being a workaround, we need to report it to Kaspersky to find a permanent solution.

If you find any certificate/address or application that can be whitelisted, share it in the comments!

I started having the same problem today, it breaks my windscribe extension

Can you be more specific, please? I don’t see where to add this. They changed the design again…

This worked for me, but what other security issues might we face by enabling “Do not scan encrypted connections”?

It is the latest update, forums are full of people complaining about it. I switched to Bitdefender free until another update fixes things. It broke my Vpns somehow, when I reinstalled them I had no problem with Bitdefender.

I 'd the same issue before and added 1.1.1.1/32 to the network exclusion list. That was the solution.
But today I tried again to connect and saw the same thing again. Kaspersky confirmed that its a bug. They will fix soon.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting Kaspersky support!

We have consulted your case with our experts and we found out that your issue is a bug. As of the moment, our developers are still working for a properly solution but for now the workaround they suggest is to use the stand-alone program of your VPN application instead of using the extension. There is no need to gather data for this issue.

Thank you for contacting Kaspersky and have a nice day!
