I have had my Roku for several years. This morning when I turned on the TV to watch the local news I live 30 miles east of Pittsburgh, Pa, I was getting Detroit news. I can’t get it to go back to my local area. What am I not doing correctly?
What service are you using to get local news channels?
Your location is based on your IP address .
Right. All of the companies assume that the final IP address for your connection is your location and they’re all wrong. It’s often a network point-of -presence (pop) or a VPN end point.
The Roku has a zip code setting, but it’s useless.
I find this extremely frustrating
Did your internet IP address change to one closer to Detroit?
Yeah, I think you need to contact Xfinity to find out if there’s a geolocation problem with your connection.
I’ll call and see. Thanks
