Major problems with Eset Endpoint Antivirus 9

Has anyone ran into issues with newly released Eset Endpoint Antivirus 9? I pushed it out to several clients the other day and we are seeing major problems. VPN clients are no longer able to be launched, Outlook experiencing connection issues with Microsoft Exchange, remote access programs are being blocked, Eset is even having problems connecting to its own servers for updates. We had to roll back all of them to version 8.

I’ve got more than 90 machines updated and have had no connectivity problems reported. Users using VPN, Citrix and VNC. Mixture of office 2013 and 365 all have outlook working as expected.

Hi.

First: EEA doesn’t have firewall, other is the culprit.

Second: check the network status type on windows just in case revet to “public” state (again, ESET don’t manage network on this product)

Third, on outlook and exchange, again seems network problem

Fourth,
remote access problems, seems network. ESET cannot block any connection if ESET Endpoint Antivirus.

Fifth.
problem with update servers, check the KB for IP address.

If you have to version 8 and works fine that is not right with you are mention.

Suggestions:

  1. use 1 pc to update to version 9 and use to run diagnostic to see what is the problem while you keep the others working.
  2. Is a bit strange case, while you investigate, talk to ESET support team perhaps they have some procedures to get more details and find the problem, to later apply the solution.

Keep us updated.

No problems here in the pilot group (both 10/11 clients).

I’ve had no problems.

Looks like this is not an isolated issue.

We’ve had multiple issues. My computer crashes every twenty minutes. Another few computers show in the eset console with errors, but the errors disappear after a few moments, but the windows log says that the field l firewall is crashing.

Whatever they did with version 9 sure looks like the installer tried to add a firewall.

I have a case open with Eset.

I suggest in the test machine make a clean uninstall (using ESET kb2289) and install a fresh downloaded installer of ESET Endpoint Antivirus.

Let us know what happens.

I see… Interesting.
Didn’t happens to me.
