Hey, guys. I really need a hint what flags (2) in Opera browser should be enabled to return the VPN in the region where this function is disabled. I reinstalled Windows, but the instructions I used to enable VPN have been deleted due to censorship from the network. Thanks for any tips you may have.
The “vpn” is a proxy not a vpn
Goto the URL opera://about
, take note of the “profile” path, close Opera and edit the “Local State” file. It’ll be in the profile folder or one level up from the profile folder depending on whether you’re using Opera GX or regular Opera (Opera One). In the file, change the country
and country_from_server
values to US
. Don’t forget to save your changes.
Then, start Opera, goto the URL opera://settings/vpn
and turn the VPN on.
Are those the directions you’re looking for?
It doesn’t work for me. The “Local” file specifies “US” values for country and country_from_server . It was a different instruction with including the two flags and changing the proxy, without editing the files. Thanks anyway.
Okay. There’s https://peter.sh/experiments/chromium-command-line-switches/#proxy-server.
There’s also the flag at the URL opera://flags/#ip-protection-proxy-opt-out
, but I don’t know anything about it.
There’s also the option at the URL opera://settings/webrtc
that gets set to “Disable non-proxied UDP” when the VPN is turned on.
