Multiple IP Addresses Same ExpressVPN account

Hi all,

so with ExpressVPN you can share your VPN with up to 5 devices, whether it be additional devices if your own or family members.

I’m using the VPN primarily to stream beyond geo-restrictions because in South Africa our catalogs can be very restricted.

Now, one of the services I use requires me to make use of the MediaStreamer method that ExpressVPN has available.

I have to put a DDNS hostname into my router, and I need to add the ExpressVPN DNS to my AppleTV’s network settings. So obviously the DDNS hostname in my router constantly updates ExpressVPN as to what my current IP is, so that ExpressVPN can grant me the service.

But what if I want to share this MediaStreamer service to my brother? If he puts the same DDNS hostname into his router, and my IP updates go to ExpressVPN and his IP updates go to ExpressVPN, this will result in a constant conflict.

ExpressVPN does not allow you to register mulitple IP address and does not allow you to specify multiple hostnames.

I contacted ExpressVPN regarding this but I don’t think they understood me very well.

Any advice would be awesome

Best way is to get a router that supports OpenVPN or Wireguard. Every device connected to the router will get a VPN connection and only would count as one connection (the router).
