Is there a fix for this, I couldn’t find any post saying how to fix it.
When I use my VPN, DDG shows the broken image icon and the text title of the images for the “Images for …” part of search returns.
If I click on Images, I get the same thing instead of images. If I click on one of the images and try to open it, I only get a gray & white checkerboard pattern.
It doesn’t matter what Safe Search setting is used.
It doesn’t matter what browser is used.
The only fix I’ve found is to turn off my VPN.
Most VPN issues are incorrect setting at the webpage server. Does DDG have that issue? Is there a fix on my end?
Never encountered that on any VPN I use. It is not likely to be something on DDG’s end, so maybe it is your VPN provider, although that does not really make any sense either.

No, I haven’t found posts anywhere with this issue.
I haven’t had this exact issue before, but I’ve had many sites that throw a 403 error or something similar when using a VPN and no error when not using the VPN. The issue has always been server settings on the webpage server.
I suspect this might be the same thing on DDG since I’m using their webpage in various Chrome, Edge, and FireFox browsers with the same result.
The VPN is by BitDefender.
Strange. Maybe you could troubleshoot this by using another VPN service, such as Proton or Tunnelbear that both offer free VPN. But like I said, I have never had any such issues over VPN myself, so I doubt that it is a general VPN issue.
