Not able to connect to the internet on Windows 10

So I’m pretty new to VPNs, had ExpressVPN for like 3 months and that worked fine but was to expensive for my taste and with the amount I used it so I ended up unsubscribing from that
After some reccomendations online I decided to try out Mullvad for a month.

Whenever I enable Mullvad it seems to lock me out of connecting to anything online, no matter which server I choose to connect to.
It shows a green lock with connected in my Toolbar on Windows 10 but it doesn’t actually let me connect to anything.
All settings currently are how they were on a fresh install. Hadn’t touched them before my first connection. Only changed some settings when following some tips from the Mullvad website but changed those back when they ended up not working.

It seems to work fine on my (Android) phone

Is this a common problem? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Edit: For other people with a similar issue, I contacted Mullvad support and they helped me out. I had Postmaster installed(but wasn’t really using it) and that gave a conflict. After uninstalling Portmaster it worked perfectly fine!
So maybe look at other apps you have installed that may cause conflicts or block ports

Have you tried changing the VPN protocol from automatic to wireguard?

I have a similar issue but luckily I had a backup vpn and just continued using that. Let me know if you find a solution! Also happened when using Linux, nothing would resolve even internally

Tried that, doesn’t change anything sadly

Mullvad support ended up helping me out! I had Portmaster installed, after uninstalling that the VPN worked perfectly. So maybe you have Portmaster too or any other application that might be blocking things

Have you tried reinstalling the app?

Yup done that, also didn’t work

Did some more digging online and I am able to connect to https://1.1.1.1
I’m also able to ping IP addresses in the Command Prompt.
So it seems like it’s a DNS issue on my end. But no idea how I can solve those.
In the meantime I have emailed support in case they can provide any further assistance

Try restarting your router
