i use mac and have qbittorrent. i just binded with the network interface today. i use IPVanish and before i did this i would just turn the VPN on then start downloading torrents. i did get a DCMA notice months ago and stopped ever since. my VPN would never disconnect while downloading so that wasnt the issue. how do i know they are not reporting both a fake IP and my real IP? because that seems to of been the case when torrenting with the VPN on. does binding really make a difference?
Download a legal torrent as test and see if it pops up on ikknowwhatyoudownload.com after a day on your real IP
Also, try ipleak.net and see if the torrent shows your VPN address and not yours.
ipleak as stated above, but you can also check in the execution log tab (view > Log to enable it, then it’s on the top right). There’s a log saying something like « Detected external IP » that you can compare with your real IP.

For something that sure shit isn’t qued up (also had von running with qbit and tested for dns leaks throughout plus router level vpn and it still popped it how TF?)
its sending me back the VPN IP address. so that means i cannot get a DCMA from my ISP? i also just linked my client to the VPN as well.

Also, test, what happens, if the VPN is loosing the connection, if done right, QBittorent shouldn’t make any connection.

Acordding to this , ipvanish’s torrenting policy states that copyright material forbidden.
so i stopped my VPN during a torrent download and the torrent stopped so thats great to see!
