Potential fix for Luna vpn, kinda

If you’re like me, Luna vpn hasn’t been working for the last few weeks. I guess YouTube finally found a way to crack down. I just realized something I hadn’t tried yet and it seems to work.

Try disconnecting from your Wi-Fi with the vpn on. Open YouTube and see if you get ads. That seems to have fixed the problem. The downside is of course without unlimited data, you’re SOL until Luna can come up with a fix.

(Edit) Scratch that, it seems to be hit or miss. I seem to get a reduced amount of ads but I suppose it’s better than nothing.

There have been so many VPN thread regarding YouTube and Luna VPN.
To my understanding you guys are using a VPN to bypass the iOS official YouTube app’s ads? Am I correct?

Idk if you get this but when an ad pops up, the area under the video stays white and I cannot like/dislike and comment

you can also try using a older version of YT, you can downgrade the app using itunes and charles proxy. theres is also GitHub - qnblackcat/uYouPlus: uYou+ is a modified version of uYou (made by @MiRO92) with additional features and mainly made for non jailbroken users!

Hi OP, Adblock Luna has now been updated to restore adblocking on YouTube! You do not need to re-install the VPN for the update to be in effect. As always, feel free to reach out to us if you have any further questions or concerns.

This is interesting, but I’m guessing to really be able to take advantage of this I need the full version. Also it’s a little over my head. But I do appreciate it, I’ll look into this!

Thank you for the suggestion! I was messing around with the Brave browser which is actually pretty nice. However, apparently Luna has fixed the issue.

That’s the price for using Luna. I’ve learned since that yeah you have to turn the whole damn thing off to comment. Try to do it with the vpn on at all and you’re forbidden.

The price of seeing no ads. I ended up caving and just paying for YT for a few of my own reasons.

Really? It’s been working for me again for about a month. They said they fixed it.

Just keep tapping on the same video and it’ll load likes and comments.
