RAV Endpoint worry. Need help!

So, I got this shite when I downloaded a bad app, and when I tried to remove this app, it attempted to reboot my whole computer, including locking me out. I shut it off before it could do so, so I’m still stuck with it.

Should I be concerned, or should I have just let it do the reboot?

Any tips would be wonderful!

Hello,

In this post I listed some contact information I found for them: https://old.reddit.com/r/antivirus/comments/105hyyc/reason_cybersecurity/j3fst6y/

If you do not think you intentionally installed their software then I would strongly suggest calling or emailing them and requesting that their tech support walk you through uninstalling their software.

Be polite, but be firm and don’t take no for an answer: If they want to be viewed as a legitimate software company, they have to help people uninstall their software.

Also see this discussion in an earlier thread: https://old.reddit.com/r/antivirus/comments/133sler/is_reasonlabs_a_virus_or_is_it_safe/lb3a5pp/

Let us know how it goes.

Rav endpoint come installed in some laptop when you buy it new or come when you install an app as a pack. It s not malicious.

to uninstall this app. you can find several tutorials like:

You are full of shit. RAV is 100% malware do not listen to this guy. I’d recommend trying to uninstall it. If that doesn’t work completely reset ur pc and reinstall windows using a usb boot drive. I had RAV uninstalled it all then the next time I turned on my pc it appeared. I found a factory reset worked although I can’t be sure yet. Just make sure to hard reset everything removing all files and installing windows with a usb stick.

Also Rav does not come pre installed on any laptops. Are you trying to shaft this guy by convincing him it’s safe?

you can check official website and its certifications:

Here you can check the certification aproval from VB100:

Here you can check the chrome web store for the addin:

No. RAV is 100% malware/PUP. I got it from clicking a dodgy ad on accident when I wasn’t thinking properly. It is most definitely something you do not want on your pc.

It s a PUP because it intall itself as a pack without normal user checking when installing other software but PUP no necesarilly mean Malware.

What is PUP? What is Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP)?.

i dont trust RAV endpoint but i dont think it s malware. this company even offer VPN service:

https://reasonlabs.com/platform/products/vpn

It hides itself on the users pc and won’t allow you too delete it. Also when you do go to delete it and it pops up with asking for feedback, everything is spelt wrong. It is most definitely not safe.
