Title says it all, looking for a way to make my internet wifi run with a VPN.
Will this slow down gaming? If so, is there some sort of accelerator device to ran in tandem with a VPN box?

From my experience, I’ve always used Astrill, I bought an Asus router and changed the software on it (you can ask astrill they have the links)
BUT the problem I have it’s not good for gaming. So I have two router set up and hooked up the modem. My Asus router provides the VPN and the UU gaming box provides gaming.
The UU gaming box is around 200-500rmb (depending the version you get) and the yearly sub is around 300rmb honestly best thing I’ve bought for myself in China

We have a VPN router—ours is an ASUS—we went through a tech company that set it up for us (in Shanghai) and if we have any problems I just WeChat them—while I’m tech savvy for the most part there are things I can’t do without support—anyways we are a family of four, two gaming kids and my hubs and I stream videos all the time—and only when there are issues with the VPN do we run into lagging—like recently with their updating while we had access it was slow for a day or two—we use Astril VPN—
If you are more tech inclined and want the best performance, you get a generic openwrt box (glinet, nanopi, cwwk) and install openclash/passwall and uu. Then set up Access Control Lists to define which devices/services/websites should run without VPN, with VPN, or with the gaming accelerator.

Hey, I was just wondering if you could give me some insight here! I have a steam deck and for the most part everything works fine but some things it won’t download, I’m guessing because of the great firewall.
My question is, with a UUbox router, will I be able to download and play things like diablo for instance? And I’m trying to get emulators on here too but it’s impossible to download. I’ve been trying to find out if I should get a UUbox router or just a second VPN router but can’t seem to find information on my problem anywhere. TIA!

Hey man. Sorry for the late reply. UUBOX should do it, because i have no problems downloading games on my PS5.
But i would reccomend going on taobao type in Koolshare, look at their routers and asks them to install Merlin software for you (this will allow you to use astrill vpn) also youll be able to install the UU application on the router too
