SonicWall Global VPN for Linux

So vpn client is running on host machine window and my vm machine is set to bridged mode whenever vm is on bridged mode it can’t ping internal network hosts connected via vpn.
i need to perform pentest from that kali vm but can’t directly reach it so is there anyway to connect this vpn client directly to vm machine?

Netextender has a Linux client, maybe a little easier than the battle you are currently fighting.

TailScale is made for this problem.

Netextender don’t seems to take pre shared key, could you please explain how this works?

NE uses certificates where are you seeing it needs a PSK ?

All i have is

  • Ip addr
  • username & password
  • Pre shared key

i just wanna have a direct connection to vm as host machine since bridged connection in VM setting won’t let me ping internal hosts

I’ve been watching your response to these questions for years. Almost always right. Sometimes a bit harsh but always correct. This thread helps me to understand myself a little bit better. They laid me off about 2 months ago, reduction in staff. 17 years on and off in one degree or another with Sonicwall. I’ve been commenting and helping others without my employer knowing it was me for years. I can speak a little more freely now. It’s very cathartic.

The option I gave was a workaround. Maybe not the best option but maybe better then the GVC bridge via Windows mess you started with. You briefly mentioned pentesting as the reason for this. Not wanting to go down the rabbit hole as in are we testing GVC etc etc? I gave you quick and dirty solution to a problem I didn’t have enough details on intelligently comment on. To put it another way, enable sslvpn on the firewall, install netextender on your Kali instance and go do work. If you don’t have access to the firewall, my option is not an option. I’m pretty sure I already know why the gvc bridge will never work but that would require me spending a lot of time explaining how many times I’ve had my buttkicked by gvc and how I intimately understand it of the parts of it. Give my recommendation a try, not saying it will just work but I know what you are trying will not.

geez chill out, we’re going nowhere with this

This is me being extremely chilled. You are going nowhere with this, not us. If you want to get somewhere with this,I would recommend not telling us to chill out. I’ve learned the most by listening and paying attention to what I’m hearing. You have next to no details. What Firewall are you running? Which firmware? Which version of gvc? Which version of Kali? Which version of Windows are you on and what type of hypervisor? This is what I do for a living, these are the questions I start with for my clients who pay me. I’m a really chill guy over here, helping people for random karma points that mean nothing.

literally this have nothing to do with GVC, kali or even the hypervisor version. I’ve already checked firewall rules for inbound and outbound connections.
you told me to use netextender fine I did but this don’t even take pre shared key dude, and no im not testing gvc im actually testing active directory.
All I wanted to know was simple way around bridged connection to reach host machine vpn via vm kali.
I’ve also mentioned the info i have to connect to vpn.
Netextender require some domain name and I don’t have that.

You are in a Sonicwall sub asking for help bridging a Windows based Kali instance network. What you are attempting to accomplish the way you want to do it is destined to fail. I like your persistence however, feel free to DM me. I can offer some advice if you are interested but you are correct we are getting nowhere here.
