Sports betting sites cannot detect my location on desktop?

ive tried everything but none of these sports betting sites can detect that im in toronto canada.

i have no vpn on … my ip search shows im in toronto ontario canada on google.

yet 2 betting sites I use both cant confirm my location…

i could use my phone but i like to setup bets on my desktop.

i even have geo location tool running that one of the sites gave me, still doesnt help.

ive also enabled windows 10 location but that doesnt work either

not sure about dns… all i know is these betting sites and their technology sucks…

and support is useless… they say try this try that …nothing works…

update…it was the wifi extender plugged into the desktop by network cable that caused the problem… why i dont know but a regular usb wifi extender worked ok …their tech support said the wired connection causes issues

What are you using for dns? I ran into the same trouble… if I used google dns it works…

I just ended up using my phone - But if someone has a valid solution other than not using my local dns which just resolves… I guess I could try setting up a conditional forwarder… Maybe I will play with it again later today.

I got fed up with the whole thing, and just use the phone to actually place a bet. Can still use site from PC, just keeps warning that your not verified, etc.

Sounds like a development problem from those sites (and probably the same dev/backend software) and not a network problem.

Some of the comments saying that they had to use Google DNS as their local DNS as if that should matter at all just makes it seem even more cobbled together on their side. That’s insane.

I would agree… But on the fanduel site for help with the plugin, they state you have to use wifi, not a wire. And you need to be using google dns…

So I just played again with this - and can get it to verify location. If I use my wifi, and set dns to 8.8.8.8, if I use my own local dns that resolves then it fails. Switch back to 8.8.8.8 and it works again.

Well not going to use wifi on my pc… And not going to use google - so I just bet via my phone.

yeah it sucks I agree.
