Steam library “Store Page” redirects to steamchina.com, any ideas or solutions?
you have malware or your DNS server has been compromised
it started a few days ago, where the “store page” in my steam library has started opening browser and redirects to steamchina.com… I don’t live in china, have have the store country is set to “Norway”, honestly no clue…
Do you use a VPN program or something form of traffic masking tech on your computer
try different browser. if it doesn’t work open db-ip.com and click on “your IP”. what country does it show?
Surely you might be having an outstanding social credit score.
It could be a sign that your account was hacked, did you check your email for any alerts?
U are now drafted for the CCCP
Is it your vpn maybe?
Reinstall Steam, links to Steam Store from the Steam Library should open WITHIN the Steam client by default, and not in Chrome/default browser.
If you’re not Chinese this is either an accident or malware.
If you are Chinese you need a VPN to access Steam Global.
It could be something has changed your DNS
At a command prompt or terminal type:
nslookup store.steam.com
That does a name server look up. It should return store.steam.com
Edit: It should be store.steampowered.com nslookup store.steampowered.com
