Super slow downloads in binhex-qBittorrentvpn

Tbh unless you’re just solely pissed about the speed for the sake of speed, my server is just set it and forget it. Rarely do I need something so fast that I can’t wait

Have you ensured your port is open? I have an image container setup with Firefox running through Privoxy so I can browse over VPN. This allows me to check my ports and external IP.

In qbit if you limit uploads it cuts downloads too

Oh, I see, makes sense.

It’s a new server and I’m trying to get everything that was on my seedbox. I’m sitting at like 60 days for a movie right now.

I installed and ran openspeedtest (LAN) and got 900ish Mbps up and down.

I installed speedtest-tracker (WAN) and got 301.2Mbit/s.

Sorry can you confirm which port you’re referencing?

Here are all my current allocations:

I always have uploads limited though. The slow speeds didn’t start happening until later.

Are you torrenting from your seed box to your server? Would much cleaner and faster to rsync

Your port for BitTorrent

You need make sure you have a port forwarded on your VPN network and that it’s set in BitTorrent

The binhex image should take care of port forwarding (provided it’s enabled on your VPN and specified in your config file) and mapping within BitTorrent but it’s worth a check.

In PIA did you specify that you wanted port forwarding as well?

And if you used rsync really no need for a VPN imo

Oh got it.

Yeah all of that is set to go. Remember, all of this worked perfectly before this morning. For the last week, with what I can tell are all the same settings, it has had stellar performance.

No I’m not torrenting from the seedbox. I really wish I would’ve though of that though.

I’ve gotten about 60% redownloaded directly from a private tracker I use but then borked the rest of it this morning when all of this began.

Ah right. Notice anything strange in your routers logs? Another issue I ran into was unrelated to unRAID/VPN/BitTorrent was my router all the sudden was showing all sorts of deauth errors. In my case, replacing the router resolved a similar issue. I was using Asus XT8 for reference.

Try rsync - are you familiar ?

Also, I disabled the VPN and got the same performance so we can rule that out.

I haven’t seen anything odd in the router. Let me find where to pull logs.

Okay I just checked and yeah there are a bunch of things that say deauth on them.

Check the but I ran speedtests within Unraid and they were super solid. I really think it has to be this client for some reason or something just got messed up when I reinstalled it.

I’ll try reinstalling it later tonight (hanging with the wife right now) and/or trying a different client altogether.

Yeah I am, it’s been a while but I could figure it out again. Realistically I have probably 90% of what was on there already downloaded. It’s just the random 3-4 episodes in a season or movie that’s missing from that specific library. The rest of what is downloading at this moment are new things to add.

Honestly at this point I just want to get my qBit speeds fixed since it’s all integrated with sonarr and radarr for proper sorting.
